Back Orthopedic Hospitalist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides excellent patient care
  • Takes patient medical histories
  • Updates patient information and charts with the latest findings and treatments
  • Reviews and interprets test results
  • Educates, counsels, and assists patients and families regarding current health problems and health maintenance activities
  • Responds to questions and concerns from patients about their health care and well-being
  • Cooperates with various medical staff, such as anesthesiologists, surgeons, internal medicine specialists /subspecialists, pediatricians and nurses, to provide patient care
  • Monitors patients' conditions and progress and revaluates treatments as necessary
  • Share information both when requested and when anticipating someone might have a need
  • Mentors’ medical students
  • Maintains punctual presence for assigned work days/nights and weekends, in compliance with SGHUMC Human Resources policy on attendance
  • Adheres to the bylaws of SGHUMC

Job Requirements:

  • MD or professional degree in medicine from an accredited medical school
  • 2 to 3 years of hospitalist experience
  • Successful completion of an accredited residency program in orthopedics surgery
  • Having the Colloquium and license to practice medicine from MOPH
  • Competencies:
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    - Attentive to details and have good problem-solving skills
    - Able to manage time and set a plan of action prioritizing work
    - Responsive to critical situations maintaining confidence and a positive attitude
    - Strong team working and collaborative skills
