Department of Ophthalmology

Acting Chairman of Department: Christian Khairallah

The Ophthalmology specialty at Saint George University Medical Center was established as an independent department in 2011. Currently it features the following sections:

- Operating room facility with state of the art equipment to treat all kinds of ophthalmic surgical pathologies including : cataract, glaucoma, corneal transplant , retinal surgery, strabismus and pediatric eye diseases

- Outpatient clinics equipped with advanced examination tools for a complete ocular evaluation

- Diagnostic ward with all the technology needed for assessment of anterior and posterior segment pathology

- Medical team that includes attending staff in the different subspecialties of ophthalmology in addition to the resident staff covering elective, emergency as well as consultation services in the hospital
