Family Medicine integrates the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences to provide continuing and comprehensive health care. The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, both sexes and every disease entity.
Our division provides holistic patient care for both in-patients and out-patients presenting with a variety of diseases or symptoms.
Since our division delivers complete care to patients of all ages, a geriatric unit was introduced catering to the medical needs of the older adults, including but not limited to respiratory problems, Alzheimer’s and memory related problems.
This geriatric unit in cooperation with the different specialties at SGHUMC oversees the palliative care services for supporting terminally-ill patients during their end-of-life stage. Palliative Care ensures that patient with life threatening and/or debilitating illness experience the best quality of care and live their last days with dignity, respect and compassion.
