The unit provides invasive cardiology procedures including but not limited to:
- Coronary Angiogram
- Coronary Angioplasty
- Pediatric Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology
- Pacemakers: devices that regulate the heart rate when it is too slow (bradycardia)
- Implantable Defibrillators: devices that monitor the heart rhythm continuously and automatically function as pacemakers for slow heart rate and deliver life-saving shocks if a dangerously fast heart rhythm is detected
- Catheter Ablation: in this procedure, one or more flexible catheters are guided via X-ray into the blood vessels and a radiofrequency energy destroys very small areas of tissue that give rise to abnormal electrical signal
