PRE-OPERATIVE PROCEDURES

Smoking

If you are a smoker refrain from smoking at least one week before surgery. You are at a higher risk of developing lung problems during or after surgery.

Medicines

Stop taking aspirin or any of its derivatives for one week before your scheduled surgery unless it has been prescribed by your cardiologist.

If you have diabetes, do not take insulin or any other oral pills prescribed for reducing the level of glucose in your blood on the morning of your scheduled surgery.

Always consult your physician before taking any medicine on your own.

Meals

Stop eating and drinking after midnight; the day before your scheduled surgery.

Your Health Status & Well Being

In case you notice any changes in your health like contracting a virus or feeling sick it is important that you immediately consult with your physician before your scheduled surgery.

It is mandatory to take a bath at the eve or on the morning of your surgery.
