Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Some Good News!

April 02, 2020

We discharged home today our first clinically and microbiologically cured patient.

Five patients at our Corona Unit are doing well clinically and are taking Chloroquine + Azithromycin.

This therapy is mainly known to decrease viral replication. Here I share with you the viral dynamics of our first five patients. More complete data to follow later.

All these patients had pneumonia documented by CT Scan with mild to moderate hypoxia and were treated early in the course of their COVID-19 infection. Unfortunately, the other two deceased patients were admitted at an advanced stage, shortly requiring transfer to the ICU, and died within 72 hours of their admission.
