The Office of Advancement at the Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB), Saint George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC), and Saint Porphyrios Association (SPA) is currently searching for a Manager of Development to assist in fundraising activities for the various needs and priorities of the three institutions.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement and Business Development (VPABD), the Manager of Development is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospects up to a giving capacity of $250,000 or more. She/he actively manages a minimum portfolio of at least 150 prospects, in support of the University, Hospital, & Association constituent’s strategic goals, which include but not limited to: financial aid and scholarship grants, endowment funds, naming facilities, professorships, research, patient needs, upgrading the priorities of the hospital in terms of infrastructure, medical equipment, and others.
Basic Responsibilities:
♦ Oversee and direct the strategic development of cultivation and solicitation plans and gift proposals for specific projects, including written proposals, oral presentations, and volunteer management
♦ Manage a minimum portfolio of at least 150 prospects
♦ Engage previous and current donors
♦ Oversee development of stewardship plans, including the appropriate publicity and recognition of gifts, the reporting of monies spent and progress, and the building of long-term relationships
♦ Responsible for direct publicity and recognition of gifts
♦ Plan events, announcements, or publicity as part of principal stewardship strategies
♦ Build strong relationships with volunteers and committees
♦ Conduct a minimum of 200 prospect visits per year and coordinate engagement opportunities for prospects and donors
♦ Work closely with the Faculty of SGUB and SGHUMC administrators as needed
♦ Take initiative in identifying new corporate, foundation, government and individual funding sources
♦ Collaborate with other development and alumni relations teams, serving as a liaison to the different schools of SGUB
♦ Assist with other department activities when asked to do so by the VPABD
♦ Meet annual fundraising goals as determined in consultation with the VPABD
Minimum Qualifications:
♦ Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, Marketing, Fund development, Non-profit management, Communications or related field from an accredited university with 5 years of experience related to development or other appropriate professional experience. Masters is a plus
♦ Minimum 5 years of proven success in fundraising preferably in an education, health, or not-for-profit institution
♦ Recent experience in capital campaign administration
♦ Recent fundraising experience with extensive experience and a successful track record of soliciting and securing major gifts; or extensive equivalent education and experience may be considered.
