Key Responsibilities:
♦ Participates in the implementation of work assignments and work schedules as prepared by Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor for Environmental Services. Includes, distributing work assignments and allocating assigned janitors to the various areas as needed
♦ Leads Janitors in cleaning assigned areas and ensures timely completion of tasks. Performs assigned duties such as training janitors on: waxing, polishing, disinfecting patients’ rooms, operating cleaning machines, etc.
♦ Inspects work areas to ensure that work performed by janitors is in accordance with established policies, procedures and instructions set by Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor. Ensures that the specified detergents are properly applied in the various areas being cleaned and sanitary and cleanliness standards are maintained
♦ Prepares work assignments for janitors for vacant rooms. Includes contacting concerned parties to obtain a list of vacant rooms and discharged patients. Informs Nurse in charge of rooms ready for use, and provides required supplies and equipment to personnel
♦ Leads janitors in handling and moving heavy items and furniture in the Hospital and related outside premises according to assigned schedule
♦ Completes all work performance forms and passes to Assistant Supervisor for information and action. Includes recording various data such as the tasks accomplished or hours worked, and reporting damaged and missing items to Assistant Supervisor or Secretary
♦ Ensures proper usage of equipment (scrubber, single disk, power equipment…) as per established standards
♦ Replenishes all needed cleaning material and consumables in all floors by requesting periodically such items from the department store, using special ordering and receiving forms.
Job Requirements:
♦ Completion of Intermediate (9 years) education
♦ 6 months on the Job Training
♦ Good knowledge of spoken and written Arabic, simple knowledge of English or French
♦ Computer literate
