 Since its foundation, the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology aims at creating a wide network of collaboration between various specialists to ensure the best care.

The department is a pioneer in offering state-of-the-art treatments, adapted to each individual. We are recognized for our excellence in advancing the field of psychiatry and clinical psychology.

Every member of the department is heavily involved in research in our sister organization, the Institute for Development, Advocacy and Applied Care (IDRAAC), that translates internationally renowned research into everyday applications as well adapting treatments and interventions specifically designed for the Arab region. Of note, the department is one of the most active in the Middle East in research and publications.

Treatments are adapted to each individual and they include psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy (medications), family therapy, group therapy, play therapy, etc… The treatment occurs in several settings: outpatient, inpatient, home visits and online (Skype).

The department is also best known for its multi-specialist approach delivered by experts in the field of psychiatry, psychology, social work and nursing.

Each member of the department is a national and regional leader in their respective specialties.

In addition to treatment, the department is a center of excellence in training. We offer training to medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses and parents.

Our clinicians are equipped with the knowledge, expertise and resources to assess, evaluate and treat every psychiatric and psychological disorder including ADHD, substance use, memory problems, depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, phobias, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, schizophrenia, eating disorders, sexual dysfunction, delusions, stress…
