Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Chairman of Department: Mary Chammas

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides high-quality, research-based care for women at all stages of life—from adolescence to menopause and beyond. It offers the full spectrum of out-patient and in-patient services of women’s health, including yearly women’s well-being checkups, prenatal care, advanced gynecologic and minimally invasive surgeries, and uro-gynecologic procedures. Our obstetrical services include advanced care for high-risk pregnancies, diagnostic ultrasounds and other fetal well-being monitoring and pre-natal tests through our state-of-the-art imaging and laboratory work-up.

Our in-patient services are unique in their compassionate care where every woman is attended by more than one professional skilled personnel making our ratio of medical personnel to patients one of the highest in the country.

The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics has a highly reputable residency/teaching program which is one of the best in Lebanon and the region.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC

 

The health sector in Lebanon is in deep crisis. Medical coverage has become a commodity that only a small privileged percentage of the Lebanese society can attain; a luxury at times where health should be a basic right.

Saint George Hospital established a Community Health Clinic aimed at providing qualified care to the underprivileged. Its outreach goes beyond the walls of the hospital to encompass education, health awareness and public screening.

Making it Accessible

- A yearly registration fee of 100,000 LL

- A 10,000 LL charge for each subsequent visit
