Key Responsibilities:
♦ Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, cognition, swallowing and/or communication disorders
♦ Providing a full range of diagnostic, counseling and rehabilitative services using recognized standards of professional practices
♦ Collaborating with the healthcare team and involves patient and their family members in the development and implementation of individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce and enhance performance
♦ Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies
♦ Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required
♦ Completing necessary documentation and maintaining clinical record on patient history and progress
♦ Assisting in the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, protocols to enhance patient outcomes
Job Requirements:
♦ Bachelor degree in speech-pathology/communication disorders (Masters is an advantage)
♦ 2 years’ experience in similar role (experience in a hospital is an advantage)
♦ Previous experience in dysphagia and swallowing disorders is required
♦ Working knowledge of standard occupational therapy practices, procedures and equipment
♦ Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
♦ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
♦ Strong problem-solving skill
