THE NEEDY PATIENTS
FUND
Saint George Hospital
has many humane stories to tell of giving. As a non-profit community hospital
owned by the Orthodox Church of Beirut, it has proven its capacity for
compassionate care and the support of the needy. Today, government welfare
programs and hospital contributions support over sixty percent of inpatients.
Treating needy patients free of charge stands at 15% of the hospital's
budget.
SAINT
GEORGE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Saint George Hospital University Medical
Center Children’s Hospital will be the first health system in
Lebanon dedicated exclusively to the care of
infants, children, and adolescents. Our mission is to provide comprehensive,
specialized health services that enhance physical and mental health and well
being of children in Lebanon and the region. In addition to
delivering sophisticated health care to thousands of children and their
families, Saint George Children’s Hospital offers preventive and educational
services to the community. The Hospital will also house a clinical research
center to enhance solution of problems related to delivery of health care to
children.
NATIONAL
EMERGENCY NETWORK
In this era of health care reform,
Saint George Hospital is realigning its service delivery
to establish a National Emergency Response System (NERS) network that will
provide optimal care for injuring patients in a cost-effective manner. By
doing so, SGHUMC will assume its role to save more lives otherwise endangered by
the lack of quick, efficient, specialized and reliable emergency
response. Almost every family in Lebanon suffered the tragedy of losing a
loved one to a trauma related injury. Many persons could have been alive today
and enjoying life if a National Emergency Response System were
available.
At
Saint
George
Hospital,
we are striving to protect lives, and one day a friend or a relative of
yours may live because we succeeded.
